Consumers wander around the large-scale retail points of sale and megastores, surrounded by thousands of different products. Their choices are influenced by the environment around them: communication and ambience are key when choosing what to buy. A survey carried out by the Platt Retail Institute (PRI) showed that the use of displays (such as plasma screens, LCD monitors, etc.) within the store increases the average till receipt in supermarkets by up to 10% on average.
